New National Finals Rodeo, same Lisa Lockhart.

“I thought my run the first night, she (Rosas Cantina CC) felt really good, as well,” Lockhart said in a media release. “We barely got the third barrel, and it’s been tight every trip. I really had to stay focused on how I was going to try and ride her tonight, so that was just part of the game plan.

“Anytime you can be in any winner’s circle, let alone here at the NFR, it’s hard to explain. It’s awesome.”

This is Lockhart's 14th career NFR. Lockhart, who came into the NFR ranked 13th, vaulted up to No. 6 in the world standings with the win with $83,904 in winnings. Hailey Kinsel, the wife of Volborg native and two-time PBR champion Jess Lockwood, leads the world standings with $135,422, however did not place in the money on Saturday.

“Rosas is very fast, she’s extremely fast," Lockhart said. "She is just very reactive to everything, and so timing is impeccable, so it’s very hard as a rider sometimes to have that timing and to time everything perfectly. I think that’s the most difficult part, but she loves her job and can run so fast. It’s an absolute blast.”

Stevensville's Richmond Champion also had another big night. After winning the opening go-round on Thursday, Champion placed third in the bareback riding with a score of 87.5 on Nutrena's Killer Bee. Champion won $15,654 and remains in third in the world standings with $116,034 earned.

Deer Lodge saddle bronc rider Chase Brooks placed third on Saturday for the second straight night. Brooks rode Awesome Sauce to a score of 86.5 and won $15,654. He moved up one spot to No. 7 in the world standings with $95,881 earned.

Brody Cress of Hillsdale, Wyoming finished out of the money on the third go-round of the saddle bronc riding. He remains in third in the world standings with $115,039.

Helena's Chase Tryan and Clay Tryan and Billings and their respective partners did not record times in Saturday's go-round. Clay Tryan ranks 12th in the world standings for headers with $67,629 earned while Chase Tryan ranks 14th in the world standings for heelers with $63,914.

Miles City tie-down roper Haven Meged finished out of the money for the third straight night with a time of 8.5 seconds. He fell to 10th in the world standings with $76,748.
