GREAT FALLS — The Montana Tech volleyball team came into Great Falls Thursday ranked 18th in the latest NAIA polls, but the Orediggers will surely move up after taking down 16th-ranked Providence to open Frontier Conference play. Tech won in four sets, 3-1.

Tech took advantage of a slow start from UP in the first set, jumping out to a 7-2 lead. The Argos battled back to tie it at 24, but Tech would prevail and also take the second set to go up 2-0. UP took the third set 25-17, but the Diggers won the fourth 26-24.

Maureen Jessop led the Diggers in kills with 15, while McKenna Kaelber added 40 assists. Kelsey Shaver had 18 kills for the Argos.
