HELENA -- The Helena High Bengals took on the Bozeman Hawks in a non-conference volleyball tilt Tuesday and promptly took care of business, downing the Hawks in straight sets.

Bozeman scored the first point of the match, but after that the Bengals went on a tear, racking up seven straight points prompting a Bozeman timeout to regroup. The efforts to piece together the set from there were to no avail as Helena High came out strong in the first set to win it, 25-18.

The Hawks refused to go down without a fight in the second set and battled the set back to an 11-11 tie after being down 7-2 early. The back and forth carried on for most of the set, and Bozeman looked like it could steal the second set while leading 20-18. Bengals head coach Lindsey Day called a timeout to get her team to regroup, and it worked. The Bengals rattled off four straight points, en route to a 25-23 win.

The Bengals polished off the night with a 25-15 in Set 3 to down the Hawks in straight sets. The Bengals and the Hawks will now take a short hiatus before they head to the Great Falls Invitational on Sept. 13.
