CORVALLIS — Laurel's girls started quickly and never looked back as they raced to a 4-1 victory over Corvallis on the road in the Class A soccer quarterfinals on Saturday.

Mya Maack got the game started with a goal in the 18th minute but Maria Hickey answered in the 19th for Corvallis to make it 1-1. From there, the Locomotives flexed their muscles, as Maack scored her second goal in the 23rd minute and away Laurel went.

Kadee Grammar put Laurel up 3-1 after a nice feed from Chloe Baumann. Grammar played the ball off a high bounce and was able to get a nice spin on it to keep it away from the keeper for the score. Sammi Spitzer added a turnaround goal of her own for insurance to send the Locomotives into the half 4-1. After a scoreless second half, the Locomotives punched their ticket to the Class A semifinals with the win over the Blue Devils.
