GREAT FALLS -- The Great Falls CMR cross country teams continued their dominance over crosstown rival Great Falls High at the annual city meet, sweeping both team titles to extend lengthy streaks at Anaconda Hills.
The boys, who won their 14th straight city meet title, had one of their narrowest margins of victory with a 23-32 win. The Rustlers were paced by senior Connor O'Hara who won in 17:13. Great Falls High's Gavin Groshelle finished second individually with a 17:50 time.
On the girls side, the Rustlers claimed seven of the top eight spots led by Kynsie Schmidt who finished in 21 minutes on the dot. Great Falls High's Isabel Hawley finished second in 21:41. But CMR runners swept the next six places. It was the ninth straight team title for the Rustlers.
The city meet wrapped up the regular season for both teams, who will next compete at the state cross country meet at Eagle Falls on October 26.
