MISSOULA — The Montana men's basketball team picked up a commitment from a local standout on the Hi-Line Wednesday evening.

Shelby junior Rhett Reynolds announced his commitment to UM via Twitter, and confirmed that decision with MTN Sports.

"I am beyond thankful and blessed to announce my commitment to the University of Montana where I will further my academics and basketball career!!!" Reynolds tweeted. "Thank you to all my family, teammates, coaches, and friends who helped me along the way. #gogriz."

Reynolds, a 6-foot-9 post-forward, has averaged a double-double in points and rebounds this season for the Coyotes as Shelby has raced out to a 9-2 record and currently sits in first place in District 1B. Reynolds comes from a family with strong basketball connections as his father, Tom, is Shelby's head coach while older brother TJ plays basketball at Montana State-Northern.

Reynolds is the first known Griz basketball commit for the Class of 2022.
