MISSOULA -- Montana senior Kendal Manuel was named the Big Sky Conference men's basketball player of the week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Manuel, a Billings native, scored 17 points in Montana's 60-58 win over Southern Utah last Thursday. Then, against Northern Colorado on Saturday, Manuel scored a career-high 30 points on 13-for-16 shooting. He was 3 for 3 from deep. Montana fell to UNC 74-66. He was 6 for 9 from beyond the arc in the two-game stretch.

Manuel averaged 23.5 points, six rebounds and two steals on the weekend. He was 19 for 30 from the field.

This is the second straight week a Grizzly player has earned the award. Senior Sayeed Pridgett was named the player of the week last week.

Montana (7-8, 3-1) sits atop the Big Sky Conference standings and will take on Eastern Washington in Cheney on Thursday.
