Montana Lady Griz fall to Northern Arizona on the road, split season series

The Montana Lady Griz fell to Northern Arizona 89-76 on Saturday morning in Flagstaff, Arizona to split their season series.

Four Northern Arizona players scored in double-figures led by Jacqulynn Nakai who scored 29 points and dished six assists. Regan Schenck added 21 points and eight assists for the Lumberjacks (6-6, 4-4 Big Sky). The Lady Griz topped the Lumberjacks 83-74 on Thursday.

Carmen Gfeller led the Lady Griz with 21 points while Abby Anderson tallied 17 points and seven rebounds. UM shot 50% from the field in the game but just 4 for 19 from deep. NAU meanwhile went 9 for 19 from the 3-point line and finished shooting 56.9% from the field.

The Lumberjacks forced the Grizzlies into 17 turnovers defensively. Montana got within five points with 4:09 left in the game but NAU used free throws down the stretch to put the game away.

Montana (5-4, 2-2 Big Sky) is back is scheduled to be back in Dahlberg next week with home games against Sacramento State on Thursday and Saturday which would be its first conference games of the season in Missoula.
