Deer Lodge saddle bronc rider Chase Brooks ($86,450) is fourth in his event, but everybody is chasing Ryder Wright, who’s sitting on $167,886 and counting.
Miles City’s Haven Meged slipped from sixth to ninth in tie down roping with $59,204 in season earnings. But in a stacked field, he’s less than $32,000 off the lead.
Newcomer Ty Blasingame of Casper, Wyo., fell from team roping’s world header lead to second after Oklahoma’s Clay Smith caught fire over the Fourth of July week. Blasingame has $79,775 to Smith’s $92,389.
