NAMPA, Idaho – After two nights of non-stop action at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, 2012 PRCA World Champion Cody Teel (Kountze, Texas) collected his second PBR (Professional Bull Riders) elite series win of the 2018 season at The 25th PBR: Unleash The Beast, DEWALT Guaranteed Tough Invitational.

As the last regular season event of the 2018 season rolled to a close, Teel selected Spotted Demon (Julio Moreno/Dallas Schott) in the championship round and recorded an impressive 92.25-point ride, the first 90+ ride of his PBR career. Earlier in the evening he rode Gangster Can Do (Dakota Rodeo-Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Ken Barnhard) for 85.5 points in Round 2.

For his impressive 3-for-3 effort on the weekend, the Texas cowboy earned 550 world points, moving him from the No. 8 spot in the PBR world standings to No. 5. Teel also took home a paycheck of $37,100.

As the second half of the 2018 season ends and all eyes focus on the upcoming PBR World Finals in Las Vegas on Nov. 7-11, only 2,380 points separate the Top 5 riders in the world standings.

Chase Outlaw (Hamburg, Arkansas) has been determined to punch his ticket to Las Vegas and a chance to compete in World Finals, and thanks to his impressive 3-for-3 performance in Idaho he collected some much needed world points and is now firmly in control of his World Finals destiny.

In Round 2 on Sunday night, the fearless Arkansas cowboy conquered Check It Out (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) for 88 points. He went on to record an 89.75-point ride aboard Jasper (Wentz Bucking Bulls/New West Rodeos) in the championship round to catapult himself from No. 61 in the world standings to No. 35. Outlaw earned 420 world points and $20,965 for his weekend efforts.

Outlaw will also be one of the riders that will be looking to pick up more world points as they compete at the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) event in Colorado Springs on Oct. 26-27

Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil), who entered the weekend at No. 3 in the world standings, secured a third-place finish after also going 3-for-3 at the Ford Idaho Center. In Round 2 on Sunday he went 8 aboard Saint Joe (Dakota Rodeo/ Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Heald Pro Bulls) for 87.5 points. As the final ride of the night in the championship round, Leme conquered Tykro Pound Sand (Wild Hoggs/Corey Chmelnky) for 88 points. The 2017 PBR Rookie of the Year leaves Nampa with a total of 360 world points and a $14,480 paycheck.

Leme’s efforts over the weekend advanced him past Claudio Montanaha Jr. (Sau Paulo, Brazil) to No. 2 in the world standings and puts him a mere 1,710 behind world leader Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil).

Derek Kolbaba (Walla Walla, Washington) was another rider that had a perfect 3-for-3 weekend, taking home a fourth-place finish. Kolbaba energized the crowd after covering Freckles Brown (Wentz Bucking Bulls/ New West Rodeos) for 87.75 points in Round 2. After selecting Budakon (Hale/Braun/Grimes/Wallgren), a bull that bucked him off during the 2017 World Finals, for his championship round matchup, Kolbaba moved from No. 16 to No. 13 in the world standings after an 89.5-point ride. He picked up 220 world points and an $10,400 paycheck.

Rounding out the Top 5 was young gun Cody Jesus (Window Rock, Arizona). After a second-place finish in Saturday’s Round 1, he rode My Creation (Shawn Proctor) for 86.75 points in Round 2. It’s the second time this season he has finished in the Top 5 of a premier series event.

Jesus didn’t fare well in the championship round aboard Check Mate (Dakota Rodeo-Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Ken Barnhard) but despite being bucked off moved from No. 39 in the world standings to No. 36. For his efforts he leaves Nampa with 120 world points and a $7,250 paycheck.

The YETI “Built for the Wild” Bulls of the Event was Smooth Operator (Dakota Rodeo/Julie Rosen/Clay Struve/Chad Berger) who dispatched Cody Nance (Paris, Tennessee) after 2.02 seconds and recorded a bull score of 45.75. As a result of the animal athlete’s impressive performance, the active world champion bull race tightened as Smooth Operator increased his world average to 45.63 on the heels of Sweet Pro’s Bruiser (D&H Cattle Co.) who has a 46.28-point world average.

Fans can tune in to see the rides and wrecks from Nampa’s Round 2 and the championship round on-demand at RidePass.com or via the RidePass mobile app starting on Monday, October 22 at 8 a.m. ET.

The Top 35 bull riders in the world will now head to Las Vegas, Nevada for The 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast PBR World Finals at the T-Mobile Arena November 7-11.
