VANCOUVER, B.C. -- After he earned a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in July, Poplar native Hunter Azure is set to make his debut for the promotion in September.
Azure (7-0), a bantamweight, will face Brad Katona (8-1) at UFC Fight Night 158 in Vancouver, British Columbia on Sept. 14. The fight will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Katona won the reality show The Ultimate Fighter 27 to earn his spot in the UFC. He has gone 2-1 since he signed, most recently suffering his first professional loss to Merab Dvalishvili.
Azure was a four-time Montana high school state wrestling champion at Poplar and wrestled for MSU-Northern before embarking on a career in mixer martial arts. He moved to Phoenix to train full time at the MMA Lab and has racked up an unblemished record.
The 27-year-old Azure defeated Chris Ocon at the DWCS on July 9 and earned a contract from the UFC president in the process.
