BILLINGS -- With the Big Sky State Games Opening Ceremonies scheduled for Friday, the organization is having to adjust course.

Sam Schultz, an Olympian and former World Cup mountain bike racer from Missoula who was scheduled to light the torch to kick off the Games, won't be able to attend the event after his girlfriend began exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. Schultz and his girlfriend were unable to obtain test results in a timely manner, eliminating his potential travel to Billings.

In Schultz's place will be Deb Greenough, a 13-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier, 1993 world bareback champion and Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame member. Greenough will light the torch as part of Friday's Opening Ceremonies at Wendy's Field at Daylis Stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the ceremonies will start at 7 p.m.
