GREAT FALLS-For a second time this season, the Voyagers lost a rain-shortened game as Idaho Falls posted a 2-0 victory Monday night at Centene Stadium.

The game was part of a scheduled doubleheader, with game two and the series finale canceled for the night. It will not be made up in any capacity this season. Great Falls (9-12) had its season-best four-game winning streak snapped. The Voyagers are 6-4 at home. Idaho Falls (14-7) put an end to its season-worst six-game losing streak, and now sits at 5-5 on the road. The Voyagers are 3-4 against the first-place Chukars this season.

The only runs for Idaho Falls came in the top of the second with two outs. Ismaldo Rodriguez reached base with a one-out walk. Kember Nacero then singled on a line drive to left. A successful double steal placed runners at second and third, and Clay Dungan drove them both in with a line drive base hit to left.

Great Falls was limited to just one base hit, a one-out single roped into center by Sam Abbott in the second. Austin Manning picked up the win in relief. Manning (1-1) worked two scoreless and hitless frames with one strikeout. Sean Thompson pitched a complete game as he took the loss. Thompson (1-3) went six and gave up two earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts and two walks. Kansas City Royals third round draft pick, Grant Gambrell, made the start for Idaho Falls and went three scoreless with one hit allowed and a season-high six strikeouts.

Great Falls now heads out on the road for its longest trip of the season. The Voyagers play at Grand Junction for four games starting Wednesday night. The trip also features four games in Colorado Springs against the Rocky Mountain Vibes. Great Falls returns home on July 19th to face Missoula.
