Registration open for MSU Billings softball camps

BILLINGS – Registration is still open for the Montana State University Billings summer softball camps held at Avitus Group Stadium, home of the Yellowjackets.

Two camps are being offered. For kids entering grades 9-12, sign up is available for High School Elite Summer Camp here and will take place July 29-30 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Kids ages 7-13 have the opportunity to participate in the Youth All-Skills Summer Camp registering here July 31-August 1 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Both camps are under the direction of MSU Billings softball head coach Lisa McKinney. McKinney returned to MSUB this summer to begin her sixth season as leader of the program. She is the winningest softball coach in program history and also has experience coaching at the NCAA Division I level. Assistant coach Taylor Jones will also be on hand to provide instruction as well as current MSUB players.

High School Elite Camp: Focus points include fundamental skill instruction, position specific drills, defensive strategy, hitting mechanics, short game techniques, offensive situation play, and instruction, advice, and drill by MSUB softball players and coaches. Cost is $120 per player and capped at the first 40 participants.

Players are asked to bring tennis shoes, cleats, a glove, a bat, a helmet, and a water bottle. Avitus Group Stadium will provide a safe environment to practice. Players may also register the day of camp; however please have a parent available to sign the release form. Spots will not be held or guaranteed for walk up registration.
