BILLINGS – Registration is now open for a pair of Montana State University Billings baseball camps that are set to take place over the next two months.

The Yellowjackets’ bat speed camp will run Nov. 6-13, while the team’s winter camp is set for December 1-2. All camps will take place in the lower gymnasium located on the main MSUB campus.

The bat speed camp features sessions available for two different age groups, including players who are 10-13 and players who are 14-18. The camp will feature four different hour-long sessions, on November 6, 8, 11, and 13. The 10-13 age group will go from 6-7 p.m. and the 14-18 age group will follow from 7-8 p.m.

At the bat speed camp, attendees will work with the training program utilized by the MSUB baseball team over the past two seasons. It has effectively increased bat exit speed and overall power production for the Yellowjackets, who shattered the school and Great Northwest Athletic Conference record for home runs with 78 during the 2018 championship season.

Registration for the camp is $100 per individual, and a hitter video analysis, including multiple camera angles and a written evaluation from the MSUB staff, is available for an additional $50.

The winter camp is for high-school students scheduled to graduate in the years 2019-2023, and will be facilitated by the Yellowjacket baseball coaching staff. It will include two options of pitching and catching on Saturday, Dec. 1, and a hitting camp on Sunday, Dec. 2. Registration is $100 for the pitching/catching camp, and $75 for the hitting camp, and it includes a free t-shirt. Video analysis is available for all three sessions for an additional $50 per video. A $25 discount is available for campers who attend both days, and a $25 discount is available for campers who select two or more video analysis features.

The MSUB baseball team won the GNAC regular-season title for the third time in the last four years in the spring of 2018, compiling a school-record 33 wins en route to an overall record of 33-18 and a league mark of 29-11. MSUB begins the 2019 season on Feb. 9-10 with three games at Colorado School of Mines.
