Incoming Wyoming Cowboys’ basketball player named named Gatorade Colorado POY

ARAMIE, Wyo. – Incoming University of Wyoming basketball player Kenny Foster was named Gatorade Colorado Player of the Year over the weekend. Foster is now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year award to be announced later this month.

The 6-5, 195-pound senior guard averaged 27.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.4 steals per game this past season, leading the Buffaloes to the Class 5A state quarterfinals. He scored 30 points in his final contest for Smoky Hill.

A four-time member of the All-Centennial League First Team, Foster was a Second Team All-State selection as a junior. He concluded his prep basketball career with 1,784 points.

The future Cowboy also excels in the classroom, as Foster maintained a weighted 4.26 GPA. He also spends time as a youth basketball coach and a peer math tutor.
