Dawson Community College continues softball tear, wins 4 more

GLENDIVE – The DCC softball women continued their record-setting season over the weekend with four more wins.

Dawson Community College Softball Grabs Lead in Fourth Inning to Defeat Dakota College at Bottineau 10-2

Dawson Community College Softball stole the lead late in the game in a 10-2 victory over Dakota College at Bottineau on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Dawson batting in the bottom of the fourth when an error scored one run for the Lady Bucs. Lady Buccaneers secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fourth inning. Trinity Anderson, Maycen O’Neal, Ashlyn Tingey, Reannon Justice, and Shelby Martin each had RBIs in the big inning.

Dakota College at Bottineau fired up the offense in the first inning, when Savannah Fabro singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Shelby Martin was on the rubber for Dawson. She lasted five innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out four and walking one. Kassidy Cunningham was in the pitcher’s circle for Dakota College. She surrendered nine runs on nine hits over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Randee Charlo threw one-third of an inning in relief.

Dawson collected ten hits on the day. Tingey, April Davis, and Martin all managed multiple hits for Lady Bucs. Martin, Davis, and Tingey each managed two hits to lead Dawson Community College Softball. Dawson was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Maycen O’Neal had the most chances in the field with five.

Cunningham went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Dakota College at Bottineau in hits.

Dawson Softball Takes the Win Over Dakota College 5-2

Dawson Softball wins contest against Dakota College on Saturday, 5-2. Dawson got things started in the first inning. Alison Ellertson hit a solo homer. Lady Bucs notched four runs in the third inning. Ashlyn Tingey, Shelby Martin, and Jordyn O’Neal all drove in runs in the frame. Alexa Kappel was in the circle for Dawson Community College. She lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and two runs while striking out seven.

Kassidy Cunningham toed the rubber for Dakota College. She surrendered five runs on ten hits over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Randee Charlo threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Dawson smacked one home run on the day. Ellertson put one out in the first inning. Dawson collected ten hits. Hadley Bennett, Ellertson, and Reannon Justice each collected multiple hits for the Lady Bucs. Justice, Ellertson, and Bennett each managed two hits to lead Dawson. Dakota College scattered ten hits in the game.

Skylyn Karonis, Stephnay Ahmed, and Elisa Clay each had multiple hits for Dakota College. Karonis went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Dakota in hits.

Dawson Community College Blows Out Dakota College at Bottineau 15-1

Dawson Community College Softball had all cylinders firing on offense on Sunday, winning big over Dakota College at Bottineau 15-1.  Dawson got things started in the first inning. Hadley Bennett singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Lady Buccaneers scored six runs in the fourth inning. Maycen O’Neal, Ashlyn Tingey, and Reannon Justice all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Shelby Martin led things off in the circle for Dawson Community College. She went five innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

Kassidy Cunningham was in the pitcher’s circle for Dakota College at Bottineau. She went four innings, allowing 15 runs on 15 hits, striking out two and walking one. Kennedy Cunningham threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Dawson hit one home run on the day. Justice had a four bagger in the fourth inning. Dawson had 15 hits in the game. Bennett, O’Neal, Justice, and Tingey each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Bucs. O’Neal and Bennett each collected three hits to lead Dawson.

Dawson Claims Blow-Out Victory Over Dakota College 12-2

Dawson won big over Dakota College 12-2 on Sunday. Dawson got on the board in the first inning. Ashlyn Tingey drove in one when she singled. Lady Buccaneers put up five runs in the sixth inning. Trinity Anderson, Alison Ellertson, and Reannon Justice all drove in runs in the frame. Alexa Kappel was on the rubber for Dawson. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six.

Randee Charlo led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Dakota. She allowed 11 hits and eight runs over six innings, striking out five. Kennedy Cunningham threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Dawson smacked two home runs on the day. Hadley Bennett put one out in the seventh inning. Justice went for the long ball in the sixth inning. Dawson racked up 16 hits. Ellertson, Marshall, Jordyn O’Neal, Anderson, Bennett, and Justice each had multiple hits for the Lady Bucs.

Marshall and Ellertson all had three hits to lead Dawson. Dawson was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Tingey had the most chances in the field with seven. Ellertson led Dawson with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

Savannah Fabro led Dakota College at Bottineau with two hits in three at bats.
