GLENDIVE – Lady Buccaneer Basketball athlete Alexius Foster competed in the 11th Annual All-Star Showcase in Atlanta, GA from July 27-29. The weekend session was held during the recruiting live period for all NCAA and NAIA divisions. This was the 2nd player from DCC that has participated in the event the last two years.
Foster was this past season’s Mon-Dak Conference and NJCAA Region 13 MVP. She also was awarded NJCAA 3rd Team All-American status. She led the conference and her team in scoring, averaging 18ppg. During her freshman year, she was ranked #19 nationally among her Division 1 peers with a total of 574 points.
Alexius was grateful for her experience, “Being in Atlanta gave me the chance to showcase my skills to many college coaches all over the world, and it also gave me the opportunity to represent not only Dawson, but the city of Glendive as well. Now that I’ve put my name out there and universities know about me, it gives me more incentive to kick it up a notch my sophomore year at Dawson, and really show everyone what I can bring to the table…again. I’m extremely happy that Coach Romeo was able to campaign for me to allow me to play and be a part of being one of the top 40 in the NJCAA, and I’m glad I didn’t disappoint. This opportunity was fun and it was exciting to see the different type of talent that was displayed at this event. So I just want to say now that I’m grateful and appreciate the support to all who have given it and will give it.”
