HELENA — On a Monday afternoon littered with sprinkles of rain the Belgrade Panthers beat the Helena Capital Bruins, 8-3, in cross-class softball action.

Panthers pitcher Erin Elgas led the way, pitching a complete game with 11 strikeouts. Elgas held the Bruins to only three hits and three runs.

Nicole Ames also pitched a complete game for the Bruins and racked up eight strikeouts, but Ames also gave up 12 hits en route to the 8-3 loss.

Belgrade will wait exactly one week before it hosts the Helena High Bengals on April 15. The Helena Capital Bruins will play host to Kalispell Flathead and Kalispell Glacier on April 13.
