Bozeman girls, Laurel boys lead Billings Golf Invite

BILLINGS – Billings West’s Carrie Carpenter shot a 71 to build a three-stroke lead at the Billings Golf Invite after Day 1 on Monday afternoon. Laurel’s Carson Hackmann leads the boys by two shots after posting an opening-round 66.

The Bozeman duo of Cora Rosanova and Annika Danenhauer are close behind Carpenter and sit in second and third place, respectively. Rosanova shot a 74, while Danenhauer posted a 77.

Bozeman leads the girls team competition with an overall score of 312. Carpenter has West sitting in second at 319, while Butte High School finds itself in third with a 342.

Kadence Fischer of Billings West and Grace Luoma of Butte round out the top five and trail by seven strokes.

On the boys side, Hackmann and Paul O’Neil have the Laurel Locomotives leading the way with a 284. Bozeman sits in second at 289 and Billings West is in third place after shooting an overall score of 310.

Bozeman teammates Jordan Verge and Justus Verge find themselves in second and third place after Day 1. Jordan is two behind with a 68, while Justus is tied with O’Neil and Connor Mora of Great Falls after shooting a 71.
