HELENA — The Helena High girls basketball team is finally back to work.

The winter sports practices started on Thursday, Nov. 15. But with tryouts and cutdowns, Bengals head coach Eric Peterson said of all the days to circle on his calendar, Tuesday was the one.

“It’s good to get in here and have our first real practice and really get going again and to have this group of girls back and just spend some time with them, the next four months with them,” said Peterson. “I‘d say (Tuesday) is really circled on my calendar, because we’re really back at it for the duration now.”

Helena High has won the past two Class AA state championships. The Bengals will start the season in Butte on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. The first home game for the Bengals will be on Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
