Bozeman girls, boys make a splash in swimming invitational

BOZEMAN — Bozeman High School hosted an invitational swim meet Saturday afternoon featuring two other schools, Gallatin and Billings Central, which featured several different swimmers clocking PRs.

The first to do so was Bozeman's men relay team in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. The Hawks clocked a time of 1:51.89, beating their previous record of 1:53.38.

Gallatin County's fab freshman also recorded some personal bests in their events. In the 200 Yard IM, Gallatin's Julia Huffmaster recorded a time of 2:12.40. She beat her previous time of 2:13.07, which was the fastest time in the state. Bozeman's Rylee McColley finished in second place with a new PR of 2:14.58. McColley holds the third fastest time in the state.

Huffmaster also recorded a new PR in the 100 Free, shaving off almost two-tenths of a second for a time of 53.50. She holds the second fastest time in the state.

Bozeman’s Owen Reinhart also clocked a new personal best in the 50 Yard Freestyle, 23.73.

Both Bozeman men and women won Saturday’s invitational.
