HELENA– The Helena High Bengals boys basketball team has an opportunity to get to six wins in a season for the first time in two years. The only issues are they have to beat the top two teams in the Western AA.

The Missoula Hellgate Knights are 6-0 in conference play (11-1 overall), and the Sentinel Spartans are 5-1(8-4).

“Both teams are very talented,” Helena head coach Brandon Day said. “Obviously with Hellgate, No. 1 in the state right now, is a tough one to start with. We just got to show up and compete, and that’s out goal this week, is just one game at a time, and improve our game. We hope to play better than the last time we played them, and hopefully we can do that. And then Saturday, hopefully when the time comes, we can adjust and hopefully compete in that game, as well.”

The Helena High Bengals and the Hellgate Knights will meet in Missoula on Feb. 7. Then the Bengals will face the Sentinel Spartans at home on Feb. 9.
