GREAT FALLS – The Great Falls CMR boys won a 3OT thriller over Helena Capital, 76-74, to improve to 4-0 on the season.

In a game featuring countless exciting moments, the final sequence was proved to be a fitting end.
Tied at 74 in the third extra frame, Capital’s Bridger Grovom had his shot blocked by CMR junior Kaden Gardner with five seconds left on the clock.

Cason Taylor corralled the ball and sparked a fast break. He found a streaking Caleb Currington for the game-winning layup as time expired as fans and players rushed the court.

Currington, who led the Rustlers in scoring, also added a clutch 3-pointer at the end of the second overtime to keep the game alive.

The Rustlers host Havre Friday night before the holiday break. The Bruins (2-3) are off until a non-conference clash with Great Falls High on January 5.
