Belgrade drops Friday wrestling, girls basketball contests to Bozeman Gallatin, Billings West

BOZEMAN and BELGRADE -- Friday was a busy night for Belgrade athletics, which hosted a Class AA girls basketball game against Billings West and wrestled at Bozeman Gallatin for the first time in school history.

Over at Gallatin, it all came down to the final match.

Tied at 36, Gallatin's Oakley Woody and Belgrade's Raiden Kline were the final two wrestlers to take the mat. With 45 seconds to go in the first round, Woody was able to gain control over Kline and pinned him to the ground for a Raptors win, 42-36.

In Belgrade, the Panthers hosted the undefeated Billings West Golden Bears.

West held Belgrade to one point in the first quarter, quickly building a 26-1 lead. The Panthers were unable to claw themselves back into reach, falling 64-11.

The Golden Bears had eight different scorers, including double-digit performances from Kourtney Grossman (12 points), Sydney Pierce (12), Bella Murphy (10) and Taylee Churruck (10).
