Western C volleyball: Manhattan Christian, Gardiner advance to semifinals

CHURCHILL -- The top two teams out of District 11C will square off once again as Manhattan Christian and Gardiner both made their way into the undefeated semifinal at the Western C divisional volleyball tournament in Churchill on Thursday. The Eagles, the District 11C champions, are riding momentum into Friday's game after defeating Hot Springs in the opening round 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-13) and later sweeping Ennis, the District 12C winners (25-16, 25-14, 25-11). Meanwhile, Gardiner is doing much of the same, taking down Charlo 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-16) and then sweeping Philipsburg in the quarterfinals.

Manhattan Christian and Gardiner squared off in the District 11C championship last week at the Memorial Events Center in Churchill, where the Eagles defeated the Bruins 3-0 . The two square off in a rematch Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
