Providence basketball teams to host Holiday Hoops camp

GREAT FALLS – Most teams take a few days off during the holidays, but the University of Providence men’s and women’s basketball teams will put in work of a different sort on the court.

The Argos are hosting a holiday hoops camp Dec. 30-31 at the McLaughlin Center. The camp is open to boys and girls in the 1st through 8th grade. Each camper will receive six hours of basketball instruction, competition and a camp tee shirt.

Argo men’s basketball assistant coach and Augusta native J.C. Isakson is spearheading the event, and says it’s part of a broader strategy to give back to the community that supports the teams.

“It’s a main point and focus of ours, we do it through a variety of ways, through volunteer activity and camps like this,” Isakson said. “This fall we had 117 kids here for a one-day camp and that’s a huge impact. Every single one of them went home with a team poster, autographs, and this upcoming camp they’re all going home with an Argo t-shirt. There’s a re-branding going on here and we want our logo and our brand out in the community and we want the community to feel like they have access to us as well.”

Registration for the camp is $65. To register online, click here. For more information please contact JC Isakson at 406-781-3394 or argobasketballcamps@gmail.com
