Twelve of Rocky Mountain College’s athletic teams honored as Scholar-Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) named 12 of Rocky Mountain College’s athletic teams as 2018-19 NAIA Scholar-Teams Monday afternoon.

Rocky Mountain College’s 12 teams were among the 1,939 NAIA teams earning the distinction for the 2018-19 season. In order to be named a NAIA Scholar-Team, a team must have a minimum 3.0 GPA as defined by the institution among eligible varsity athletes. 

Rocky Mountain College’s scholar-teams include women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s indoor track & field, men’s and women’s outdoor track & field, and women’s volleyball.

The women’s cross country team led all of Rocky’s 14 NAIA teams with a GPA of 3.81.
