GREAT FALLS – The Rocky Mountain College women’s soccer team opened its regular season with a 2-0 win over the University of Providence in a non-conference tilt.

Both teams had several good looks in the first half, but went to halftime scoreless. Rocky would find offense in the second half to claim the Battlin’ Bears’ first win of the season.

Though the teams are league foes, the result won’t count toward Cascade Conference standings. Providence and Rocky will return to Billings for a four-team tournament Sept. 1-3.
