Rocky Mountain College's Kloie Thatcher named Frontier Conference player of the week

WHITEFISH -- Kloie Thatcher of Rocky Mountain College was named the Frontier Conference’s women’s basketball player of the week on Monday.

Thatcher, a 5-foot-7 sophomore from Butte, helped No. 20 Rocky go 3-0 for the week. In a non-conference game, the Battlin’ Bears thumped Yellowstone Christian 78-31. In conference action, Rocky beat (RV) Montana Tech 62-52 and No. 13 Lewis-Clark State 71-69 in overtime.

Thatcher averaged 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, one block and 1.3 steals per game during the week. She was 12 of 37 from the field and 12 of 15 from the free throw line. Thatcher scored the game-winning basket as time ran out in the upset win over Lewis-Clark.

Rocky (12-3 overall, 3-1 Frontier Conference) next hosts Carroll College at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Battlin' Bears will debut their new floor at the Fortin Center.
