Rocky Mountain College sweeps Frontier Conference volleyball honors

BILLINGS – After finishing the first week of the 2019 volleyball season, Rocky Mountain College earned all three of the Frontier Conference Player of the Week awards.

The Battlin' Bears ended the 2019 Summer Slam Tournament with a record of 2-2. Rocky went 3-0 against Benedictine at Mesa in addition to a 3-2 win against Hope International while losing 0-3 to Saint Francis and 2-3 to No. 15 ranked The Masters.

Daniella Russell earned the Attacker of the Week honor. The senior outside hitter from Red Lodge averaged four kills per set with a .216 hitting percentage at the 2019 Summer Slam Tournament. She finished the week with 64 kills in 16 sets and four matches. Russell currently leads the Frontier Conference in kills and kills per set.

Ayla Embry earned the Defender of the Week honor. In her collegiate debut, the freshman libero from Bozeman averaged 5.69 digs per set to finish the week with a total of 91 digs. Embry currently leads the Frontier Conference in digs and is tied with Montana Tech's Sabrina Hopcroft for most digs per set.

Natalie Hilderman earned the Setter of the Week honor. The junior setter from Red Lodge averaged 8.25 assists and 3.19 digs per set. Over the course of 16 sets in four matches, Hilderman totaled 132 assists, 51 digs, and 17 kills. Hilderman currently leads the Frontier Conference in assists. During her sophomore season, Hilderman led the Battlin' Bears for 2018 Frontier Conference Player of the Week honors with six separate selections.
