WILLISTON, N.D. – Cody Hendrickson scored and pair of goals and had an assist to lead the 2nd ranked University of Providence men's hockey team to a victory over No. 17 Williston State.

The Argos scored two goals in the first period and never looked back, ending the game with a 7-1 victory.

"We left early this morning and bussed seven hours," head coach Jeff Heimel said. "You never know if you're going to come out with bus legs or not. We wanted to come out strong early and thankfully we scored two right off the bat."

The Argos (18-6-2) scored a pair of power play goals, something that Heimel thought his team needed to improve on as they progressed closer to the postseason.

"I was really excited about that," Heimel said. "We're continuing to improve which is always a good sign."

The Argos will return to the ice tomorrow against Williston State at 7:05.

"We have to hit the restart button and erase tonight," Heimel said. "We can't let the emotion tonight of the win settle into tomorrow. We have to focus tomorrow night. We've proven that we can win big games."
