HELENA -- Carroll College's first test this volleyball season is a big one in the Montana State Bobcats. Last season was the first time these two teams met with the Bobcats stealing the match in straight sets.

Though the match acts as a season opener for both teams, it is an exhibition that won't count against either team's record, which lends Saints head coach Moe Boyle a little bit of creativity with the game plan.

"Playing any (Division I) team is an opportunity to get more reps in against a quality opponent. Every time we step on the court our main concern is for us and what we need to do, and I think that MSU is going to bring a different flavor to the court than we usually see," said Boyle

The Saints welcome the challenge of a Division I opponent to open their season because they'll likely see some tactics they might not see during their regular season and vice versa.

"Maybe we get some tidbits from that match, and maybe we can throw out some tidbits that they maybe haven't seen," Boyle said.

The Fighting Saints and the Bobcats are set to square of on Aug. 20 in Bozeman at 7 p.m.
