Sanderson, a native of Wichita, Kan., came to Bozeman from New Mexico State in July 2014. In addition to calling some of the memorable moments in recent Bobcat history, Sanderson hosted the weekly Cat Chat radio coaches’ program, produced the Bobcat Insider podcast, and hosted the Bobcat Insider coaches’ television show.
“We want to thank Jay not only for his dedication to the Bobcats the last five years, but his steady preparation before each and every game. We certainly wish him and his family all the best back home in Kansas,” said Quinn Pacini, general manager for Learfield’s Bobcat Sports Properties.
Learfield, the Bobcats’ multimedia rightsholder that manages all aspects of the Montana State Bobcat Sports Network, in the interim has named Tom Schultz lead broadcaster for men’s basketball. He will be behind the microphone starting Saturday for the game at Southern Utah.
Montana State is represented by Learfield, which manages the athletics multimedia rights and sponsorship for nearly 130 collegiate institutions, conferences and arenas. Bobcat Sports Properties is the company’s Bozeman-based staff. As part of the overall rights agreement, Learfield oversees the radio network including talent, athletics programming and station relationships.
