WILLISTON, N.D. — The Montana State University hockey team traveled to North Dakota to take on another tough opponent. This past weekend’s series pitted the Bobcats against the Williston State College Tetons.

On Friday, the Bobcats would drop a 4-2 decision to the Tetons.

“Williston is a tough team. I mean, it’s very evident when we walk in and see the national championship banners that they are a force to be reckoned with,” said Montana State assistant coach Brian Engh. “We competed well on Friday night, and it was a game that could have gone either way. Unfortunately, an unlucky break in the third period just killed all of our momentum.”

Luke Bing and Ryan Padden scored for the Bobcats, while Christain Butler would stop 29 shots for Montana State.

On Saturday, Williston State took Game 2, 8-2.

The Bobcats return home next weekend to take on Utah Valley University on Friday and Saturday. For more info on Montana State Hockey, visit msuhockey.com.
