MISSOULA – This one is going to hurt for the Griz fans but was a day many Cats won’t soon forget. Coming in as our number two story of the year is the 2018 brawl of the wild that had an ending none of us could have guessed.
Trailing 4 points with 2:19 left in the game the Griz managed to get down to the one-yard line with 14 seconds left. After two timeouts from Montana State and what looked to be a sure win for the Griz, turned into a fumble on the one yard line.
Not only was it a win for the cats, but cemented their playoff spot and eliminated the griz from contention.
“There are lots of ways to lose a football game, that one is particularly gut-wrenching. You know you feel like you have it in your grasp a couple times on that day and then not come up with it. So, good job by them sticking with it and finding a way to get the W. And shame on us for not winning it,” said Griz Head Coach Bobby Hauck.
