BOX ELDER – One of the Box Elder Lady Bears basketball team’s most vital pieces, Joelnell Momberg, has verbally committed to continue her career playing for Shannon Schweyen and the University of Montana Lady Grizzlies.

Momberg returns as a junior this season for the defending state champion Lady Bears, who also return key players Lilly Gopher, Maddie Wolf Chief and Eve the Boy. Momberg was a crucial element of Box Elder’s attack last year, ending with a 24-2 record and a Class C state title. The team finished 20-3 her freshman year in 2017, just narrowly missing the state tournament.

Momberg announced the news on her Facebook page, while it was first reported on Twitter by www.ndnsports.com, an online publication specializing in news and stories of Native American athletes.
