MISSOULA – Spring ball just wrapped up for the Griz and they are ready to turn the corner into summer before kicking off the season in the fall. Last week the Griz held their annual spring game, and both the offense and defense showed lots of life.

Coach Bobby Hauck takes over a Bob Stitt program that went 21-14 over three seasons, including 1-2 against the cats. Hauck’s last stint as Montana head coach was a little different, going an impressive 80-17 with three national championship appearances.

While Hauck says it will take a few years to get the program up to speed, he says he’s been pleased so far. “I really like our team. The buy in and the investment’s been total and complete. We’ve had zero resistance from any of them. They’ve done everything we’ve asked them to do. I think they trust us as a coaching staff for our know how, and they want to win. They want to win a championship and they’ve been real receptive to anything we’ve requested or required of them.”
