BOZEMAN – The Montana State Bobcats men’s basketball team fell to Portland State 80-77 on Saturday night thanks to a Bryce Canda 3-pointer to pull the Vikings ahead with just 18.9 seconds remaining in the game. Tyler Hall chucked up a 3 with just about a second to play in the game, but it hit the front of the rim. The Bobcats fell to 2-7 over their last nine Big Sky Conference contests.
Hall finished with eight points on 3-of-11 shooting, including 0-of-6 from beyond the arc. Harald Frey led all scorers with 22 points. Canda led Portland State with 18 points.
Montana State was just 17 of 31 (55 percent) from the free throw line.
MSU now sits at 13-13 (6-7 Big Sky) and will look to rebound Feb. 15 against Idaho.
