BOZEMAN — When Montana State head football coach Jeff Choate posts the word “Boom” to his Twitter account, the Bobcats have notched another commitment.
His latest “Boom” is one of the biggest yet.
Tacoma, Washington’s Malik Putney announced via Twitter that he would be committing to play football for Choate and the Bobcats. Montana State has been after Putney for almost a full year, along with other Big Sky Conference schools and three FBS programs, who all offered the three-star safety. He was offered by Idaho, Eastern Washington, Hawaii, Air Force, and Army before making his pledge to don the Blue and Gold.
Putney was a ballhawk of a safety at Eastside Catholic High School, pulling down five interceptions in his senior season. He totaled nine picks in his four-year varsity career.
