MISSOULA — It was a record-setting weekend for the Montana Grizzlies’ men’s basketball program.

It was one of the closest games the Grizzlies have played during the conference season, but the men were able to leave Grand Forks with a 72-67 win over North Dakota. The win pushed the team’s record to 11-0 in Big Sky Conference play. It was also the team’s seventh consecutive road win, a new school record.

But that wasn’t the only record broken.

Head coach Travis DeCuire became the fastest coach in the history of the Big Sky Conference to win 50 conference games, only needing 65 contests to do so. His 50-15 record through his first three-plus years in Missoula translates to a 76.9 winning percentage.

Montana will look to extend its winning streak at home on Feb. 8 against Portland State.
