BOZEMAN — The Montana Grizzlies’ continued perfection in Big Sky Conference play is earning them a jump in College Insider’s Men’s Mid-Major Top-25 Poll.

Montana sits at 16th in this week’s rankings after placing 21st in the last poll. The team won a pair of convincing home contests last week over Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Through the first five weeks of conference play, the Grizzlies rank first in the Big Sky in both scoring offense (83.8 points per game) and defense (66.1 ppg). They also are winning their games by 17.7 points per game, a margin nearly twice as large as Weber State, the conference’s second-ranked team.

Montana is the only Big Sky team ranked in the top 25. Saint Mary’s is the top-ranked team, earning 27 first-place votes. Gonzaga, New Mexico State, Louisian and East Tennessee State round out the top five.
