MISSOULA — Chase Reynolds made a name for himself as a record-setting running back in Montana before playing six seasons in the NFL. He has been out of a job for a year, but he isn’t finished running — he’s just choosing a new outlet. Reynolds will be running for a seat in the Montana senate.

Reynolds, a Drummond native, won a trio of state titles and set state rushing records in his home town before setting more records as a member of the Montana Grizzlies. He totaled 4,938 yards in Missoula, and set a single-season mark for rushing touchdowns with 22 (twice). He totaled 60 touchdowns in three seasons. Reynolds, 30, played with the Rams in the NFL, mostly getting reps on special teams.

He has filed to run as a republican for a seat in Missoula, which is currently held by Diane Sands.
