Montana State Bobcats finish fourth at the Utah Invitational

BOZEMAN – Montana State sophomore Emma Tarbath negotiated a heavy downfall of snow to place fifth-overall at the University of Utah Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Rendezvous Ski Trails. The product of Anchorage, Alaska covered the 15-km course in 47:49.5.

Kathleen O’Connell just missed a top 10 performance, finishing 11th in 49:45.3, while Johanna Taliharm completed MSU’s scoring placing 13th-overall in 50:06.5.

Utah’s Guro Jordheim won the women’s freestyle in 45:22.2.

Anna Fake, 21st, 52:25.8, Jordi Floyd, 28th, 56:02.0, and Maria Gesior, 31st, 59:16.0 also finished for the Bobcats.

The MSU men’s contingent was guided by Karsten Hokanson, who finished 21st-overall in 59:33.7, while Eli Jensen, 22nd, 59:54.4, and Martin Muan, 26th, 1:00.29.1 completed the Cats’ scoring on the afternoon.

Utah’s Hakon Hjelstuen won the men’s title, covering the 20-km course in 54:01.0.

Denver capture the team title with 650 points. The Pioneers were followed by Colorado 636, Utah 599.5, MSU 527.5, New Mexico 396, Alaska Anchorage 333, Westminster 224, Alaska Fairbanks 223, and Colorado Mountain College 71.
