HELENA – It must be something in the water over at Helena Capital lately, because the Bruins are sending another lineman to play college football.
Senior Trevor Welnel announced Thursday morning that he is verbally committing to play football for the Montana Grizzlies next year. Welnel will join fellow Bruin lineman Conor Quick and his older brother Marcus Welnel, who is already playing in Missoula as a linebacker.
Trevor Welnel said he’s already received some advice from his brother: “Freshman year is going to be kind of cruddy, but just stick with it because it’s going to be a blast. You’ll never have more fun in your whole life. I’m excited. We’ve always been teammates, so I’m glad we can finally do it again. I’ve always been a fan of the Griz, went to a lot of their games this fall and had a lot of fun there. I knew it just felt right.”
