BOZEMAN – For the first time in three seasons, the Montana State Bobcats lost at home.

MSU fell to Portland State 69-60 Thursday night. The last time MSU lost in the Brick was in November of 2015 to San Diego. But streaks are meant to be broken, and the Bobcats have a short memory. Now they turn their focus to Sacramento State.

“Sac State has been about taking care of the basketball and winning the boards and making sure we get a quality shot at the other end,” said head coach Tricia Binford. “I think Sac state does a great job of forcing you into a quick shot that is an average shot and we have to be super smart as to what that shot looks like for our team.”

But the Montana State specializes in shooting the three, and the Hornets style could play right into the hands of the Cats.

“Sac State is going to press and pick you up and put you in positions where if you break it, your going to have some looks as well. And I think that’s been a strength for us,” said Binford. “That’s not something we are going to go anyway from.”
