BILLINGS — Huntley's Brady Tryan is used to being in his brothers' big shadow. Friday night, he got a taste of the spotlight.
Tryan and partner Clay Futrell jumped into third place in the Yellowstone River Roundup Rodeo team roping competition Friday night, after a 5.1-second run. Tryan, who qualified twice for the National Finals Rodeo in 2010 and '11, is the younger brother of three-time PRCA world header champion Clay Tryan and Travis Tryan, who have 27 combined NFR trips.
Kellan and Carson Johnson lead the team roping race at 4.4.
Hardin's Trevin Baumann also had a good night Friday, putting down a 10 second run in tie-down roping to move into third.
The final performance is set for Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Metrapark grandstands.
