Haven Meged, Chase Brooks among winners at Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals

KALISPELL -- Have Meged was up to his old tricks at the 42nd annual Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals, which concluded Saturday at Majestic Valley Arena.

The Miles City cowboy won all three rounds of tie-down roping, winning the first round in 10.1 seconds, the second in 9.0 seconds and the third in 9.7 seconds. His 28.8 seconds on three head netted him the average title.

Chase Brooks had a big weekend, too, scoring 249 points on three head to win the saddle bronc average. He was second in the first round with an 85-point ride, finishing behind Houston Brown's 90. Brooks was third in Round 2 with a 79, finishing behind Travis Nelson (84.5 points) and Keenan Reinhardt (82). Brooks capped the weekend with an 85-point ride to win Round 3.

Wyatt Bloom won all three rounds on his way to the average title in bareback. He scored an 86-point ride in the first round to tie for first with Richmond Champion, won the second round outright with an 89-point ride, and then tied with Blade Elliott to win Round 3 with 85.5 points.

Parker Breding won the second and third rounds of the bull riding to claim the average title with 173.5 points on two head and finish ahead of Hawk Whitt (163 points), Connor Murnion (146) and Payton Fitzpatrick (89). Fitzpatrick won the first round with his 89-point ride.

Scott Guenthner won the steer wrestling average, totaling 14.0 seconds on three head. He was the first round with a 4.1-second time. Timmy Sparing won the second and third rounds, and finished fourth in the average.

Radley Day and Taylor Williams took the team roping average, finishing second, fourth and fourth in the three rounds. Caden Camp and partner John Bell finished fourth in the average after tying for first place in the second round and placing third in the third round. Camp, who also tied for second in the second round of steer wrestling, won the all-around title.

Maggie Poloncic took the first and third rounds of barrel racing and Tara Stimpson took the second, but it was Erin Williams taking the average title. Williams' 44.88 seconds on three head was just faster than Stimpson's 44.96 time.
