GREAT FALLS — The Great Falls Americans opened the 2019-20 season with a dominant 7-1 win over the Gillette Wild at the Great Falls Ice Plex on Friday.
The Americans had 46 shots on goal, while the Wild had 40. Great Falls scored three goals in the first period on 12 shots, while Gillette managed just one on 15 shots in the first frame.
Levi Mese, Dylan Olson and Jake Hayes each scored twice for Great Falls, and Bryson Fletcher added another. Great Falls and Gillette will play again on Saturday, Sept. 14. The Americans will then travel to Butte for a match-up with the Cobras on Thursday, Sept. 19.
