Two Montana State Bobcat golfers finish in top 10 at Rose City Collegiate tournament

AURORA, Ore. -- Montana State seniors Kelly Hooper and Delaney Elliott carded their best rounds of tournament play on Tuesday, Oct. 1, to close out the Rose City Collegiate at Langdon Farms Golf Club.

Both Hooper and Elliott recorded three birdies in their final 18 holes for the Bobcat golf team on Tuesday. Elliott shot an even-par 72 and Hooper fired a 1-over-par 73. Hooper finished tied for eighth overall with a three-round score of 7-over 223. Elliott tied for 10th at 9-over 225 over 54 holes.

Lucia Prieto Romano contributed to the Bobcat team score in the final round as she shot a 5-over 77. Lilly Navarre carded an 84 and Hannah Rosanova shot an 85 to round out MSU's lineup. Coral Schulz, competing as an individual, fired an 81.

Schulz finished in a tie for 46th overall with 238 strokes. She was followed by Navarre (239) who tied for 48th, Prieto Romano (242) who tied for 55th and Rosanova (261) who took 69th.

The Montana State golf team moved up two spots in the team standings between rounds two and three to tie for eighth alongside Omaha with 929 strokes (316-307-306). CSU Fullerton won the team title by tallying 886 strokes. Eastern Washington's Madalyn Ardueser was the individual medalist with a 54-hole score of 1-under 215.

Montana State closes out its fall portion of its 2019-20 schedule this weekend. The Bobcats travel west to compete in the Montana Match Play Challenge at Missoula Country Club beginning on Friday.
